Off the shelf learning

Our learning modules are designed to be integrated into a programme that suits your organisations specific needs and can be run either face to face or online. For more individual and public programmes centred around emotional intelligence please visit www.3minds.co.nz/events

Research suggests that for the learning to really take hold it is best to combine the learning modules with workplace applications that can help people apply their learning directly, therefore our learning is in chunks and follows a standard format of:

  • Theory and best practice insights

  • Applying it to the context you are working in

  • A chance to observe it done well

  • A chance to have a go in a supported environment

  • Application (done in own time)

  • Check back in with progress and what has worked well and not so well

  • Coaching/mentoring/buddy support

We are advocates of coaching, mentoring and accountability partners who can help you apply the learning and hold you accountable for progress between learning modules.

Based on the principle that learning is an integration between knowing and feeling, the learning is in bite size chunks to allow for online focus and learning as well as on the job application with follow up.

For each topic there is the theory, context setting with initial application and practice (module 1) which we recommend should be followed by a check in module (module 2) to see what is helping hindering in your real world context. If you want to take the learning to the next level there is a live deep dive module for each topic (module 3) where Samantha will bring the art of the practice to life with real life examples facilitated in a group setting.

Designed to be run face to face or online in bite size chunks or as an integrated programme.

feedback

This module teaches you best practice in the art of giving feedback, including the psychology of giving and receiving feedback, techniques for a smooth delivery and the difference between emotive and non emotive language. Drawing on transactional analysis you will look at the 4 positions of giving and receiving feedback to ensure you are always receiving and delivering from the right place. There is also the option of including a live 360 where Samantha Tomkinson brings the learning to life, facilitating group feedback with each other.

This module teaches you about the psychology of conflict management. What is happening inside us when we are experiencing conflict and therefore how best to mitigate the conflict to arrive at mutual agreement. Drawing on techniques from neuro linguistic programming (NLP) you will be able to see another persons map of the world and together navigate towards a mutual place of agreement.

Coaching

This module teaches you how to coach people to work through their own problems, subsequently upskilling them and empowering them to make decisions for themselves. The art of powerful clean questioning is covered as well as the ability to be present and patient to the thoughts of the person before you, carefully helping them build confidence and reach true commitment for their goals.
